Joseph Crotty is a senior director in K2 Integrity’s Financial Crimes Compliance practice. Applying his diverse experience in the investment management and trading sectors, Joe assists financial institutions with mandated transaction monitoring lookbacks, user acceptance testing (UAT), quality assurance (QA) reviews, and authoring detailed written reports for regulatory review. He also performs customer-based transaction data analysis and organizational process analysis to help clients manage deliverables, and enhance compliance with relevant regulatory compliance requirements, such as those outlined by the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS). Most recently, Joe assisted with a system validation in compliance with NYDFS Regulation 504 for a prominent U.S.-based MSB subsidiary of a Fortune 10 company and assisted on a six-month transaction lookback for one of the largest clearers of U.S. dollars in the world.
Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Joe was a business development/commercial account manager at energy infrastructure company Kinder Morgan, where he managed customer inbound ethanol volumes for the NY Harbor, Philadelphia, and Baltimore markets through spot, short-term and long-term contracts with traders and suppliers. He also provided financial, market and commodity analyses for business development opportunities and assisted with due diligence on BP’s and Kinder Morgan’s $750 million joint-venture and with the integration of BP’s assets into Kinder Morgan’s asset network. He monitored results as they related to financial budgets, revenues, earnings, liquid volumes, and bulk tonnages to ensure returns were maximized, and ensured compliance with all permit and regulatory requirements.
Before joining Kinder Morgan, Joe held financial positions as an investment associate at JPMorgan Private Bank and an equity sales and trading associate for Lazard Capital Markets.
Joe has an M.B.A. in finance and business economics from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, and a B.A. in history from Duke University with a certificate in markets and management studies.
