When investing in pro sports franchises, Andrew highlighted how understanding the culture and practices of a particular jurisdiction becomes part of the deal research process. “We’re often called in, for example on commercial deals, to identify issues related to specific industries, including sport . . . that are specific to a certain jurisdiction,” he said.
