Jules is the founder of Kroll, Inc., and the acknowledged pioneer of the modern investigations, intelligence, and corporate security industry. In 1972, he established Kroll Associates Inc., the prototype for a new breed of professional services firms dedicated to mitigating risk. By employing former prosecutors, law enforcement officials, journalists, and academics who used sophisticated fact-finding techniques to address decision-makers’ need for accurate information, Jules established investigations and risk consulting as indispensable corporate services.
In 2004, Jules sold Kroll Associates to Marsh & McLennan Companies, ultimately reaching $1 billion in annual revenue before retiring in 2008. He currently serves as chair of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice Foundation. He previously served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Cornell University and currently serves as a Cornell presidential councillor. Jules is also a former member of the Board of Regents of Georgetown University and also served as chair of the Georgetown Law Center Board of Visitors.
Jules received an LL.B. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from Cornell University.
