Ladan Archin is a managing director at K2 Integrity. With a focus on K2 Integrity’s clients based or doing business in the Middle East, Ladan works with clients to develop and strengthen risk-based policies and procedures to meet global standards and local regulators’ expectations. With more than 20 years’ experience with both public and private sector and international organizations conducting strategy, policy, finance, and project management, Ladan assists clients across regions—including Asia—to understand their exposure to financial crimes compliance (FCC) risks and to develop and implement solutions customized to their risk mitigation strategies and preventive measures.
Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Ladan spent two years in Dubai, UAE, where she led efforts to open Grant Thornton’s Global Public Sector office, while managing the legal, regulatory, financial and other daily aspects of the business.
Ladan also served as an Assistant Director at the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, in charge of the Middle East, Africa, and the Western Hemisphere. She was the Iran Country Director for the Office of the Secretary of Defense from 2002 to 2007. Ladan has also held positions at the International Finance Corporation (IFC)—the private sector arm of the World Bank—where she worked on various financial sector development projects in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Ladan started her postgraduate career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she conducted research on foreign exchange and equity derivative instruments.
Ladan holds an M.A., with distinction, from the Johns Hopkins School of International Studies (SAIS) in international relations and economics, with a regional focus on the Middle East. She conducted graduate studies in the mathematics department of Syracuse University, focusing on numerical analysis, and received a B.S. in physics from the University of Massachusetts. Ladan is fluent in Persian (Farsi), has advanced knowledge of the Arabic language, and has intermediate knowledge of French.
